Train ride in India

Taking the train to get between cities in India is common and, for the traveler, seemed to be de rigure. We took a 22 hour train ride between Kochi to Mumbai (Bombay). We rode Second class with AC and had a wonderful journey.  We left at 9:30 pm from Kochi. After getting on the train the fresh linens were passed out. We settled in, made out beds and went to sleep.

We were woken up at 6:30 am with tea/coffee and breakfast.  It was a much earlier wake up then we had been planning, but for food and caffeine we figured we should get up.

From there we still had 11 hours on the train. We napped, read, listened to audiobooks, wrote blog posts (to save, as no wifi) and edited photos. It was actually quite productive. Christopher’s favorite set up with his lunch involved multiple devices.

Overall, it was a great experience and defiantly one that Christopher had been anticipating. We were both sad that we do not have time for another train journey in India.
